Big news! Our largest ever single-site installation

We’re ecstatic to have completed our largest ever single-site installation at the Skanska UK plc head office in Hertfordshire. The installation is believed to be one of the largest to date in Europe.
Skanska plc employs 6,000 people in the UK and chose Pod Point to install 67 7kW chargepoints in one go. By request, we have futureproofed the installation to allow for it to be scaled up to 243 chargepoints. This installation was completed in just two weeks.
Skanska’s Senior Project Manager Paul Jarvis announced: “The installation of the EV chargepoints was a credit to all concerned. All site work was done efficiently, on time and to budget with minimal impact on a busy, occupied site.”
Our Founder and CEO, Erik Fairbairn, has also highlighted this as “a sign of a larger shift over the past six months... We’re seeing a huge increase in enquiries from companies wanting futureproof EV chargepoint installations as they gradually transition their fleets to electric."
Along with zero carbon emissions, electric vehicles have lower maintenance costs than petrol or diesel equivalents due to a smaller number of moving parts. Moreover, the tax advantages are significantly greater, with no benefit in kind rates for charging company cars, while the BIK rate for purchases of new EVs will fall to 2% in 2020/2021, compared to up to 20% for petrol or diesel vehicles.
