What's included?
Our standard installation is designed to be flexible, and it's based on our experience of over 250,000 installations. If you own your home (or have your landlord's permission), and you have off-road parking, there's a good chance your installation will come at no extra cost.
Your charger can be attached onto a brick or plaster wall or other suitable permanent structure
Usually we fit onto the outside of your house or a garage in easy reach of where you park.
We'll run up to 15m of cabling to connect our charger to your electricity supply
15m of high-quality cabling will cover installation in the vast majority of homes.
Up to 3m of trunking can be fit from your electricity meter to the outside wall
This will ensure your cabling is neat and tidy within your home.
We'll fit an additional adequately sized consumer unit, if required
We'll install a Type B or C MCB and a Type A RCD, or equivalent RCBO in a adequate enclosure.

Pre-installation survey
Once you've placed your order we'll ask you to complete an online survey form so we can understand your installation needs.
Once you're happy to go ahead, we'll work with you to find a suitable date and time to book your installation.
Get startedYour installation
Our expert installer will work with you to find the best spot for your charger, ensuring it’s convenient and suited to your space.
Once in place, they’ll handle all the technical setup, connecting it to our app and your Wi-Fi for seamless use.

What if I don't qualify for standard installation?

If you don't meet the criteria we can usually still carry out the home installation but an additional cost may be incurred.
Once your order is placed, we'll be in touch to better understand your requirements and produce a no-obligation quote for the additional works. If you decide not to proceed, a full refund will be provided.

How long does it take to install a Pod Point home charger?

A standard installation can be completed in as little as 2 hours. For non-standard installation, our team will advise you on what to expect.

Can my Solo charger be connected to a 3-pin-plug?

It can’t be connected to a 3-pin plug socket; the Solo charger needs to be connected to the main electrical supply so it can charge at a rate of 7kW. One of our Pod Point Experts will give you guidance on how and where the charger will be connected.
