12 new charging bays at SouthGate shopping centre | Bath

We’re delighted to unveil 6 new Pod Point Twin units, offering 12 charging bays. That's 4 bays of charging on levels -1, -2 and -3 at the SouthGate shopping centre car park in Bath. The units each offer 7kW charging, delivering 20-30 miles of charging per hour (depending on the size of your BEV), meaning a good 4 hour stay will give you enough charge for a return/onward trip in a new Nissan LEAF to the likes of London, Birmingham, Hove, Swansea, Bedford and anywhere in between.

Of course, Bath has made a peerless day trip destination for centuries - if not millenia. One of Britain's most beautiful, iconic, historic and picturesque towns, whether you’re headed for a tour of the world famous Roman baths, strolling along the Avon, or simply drinking in the ambience of the town, having this central spot to safely and conveniently drop the car to fuel itself while you explore, makes it that much better.

With its stores neatly set into pretty limestone clad lanes, the SouthGate centre makes a fantastic shopping destination. As well as the range of shops and brands you’d expect, the centre prides itself on providing an immersive cultural experience. As well as increasingly renowned street art installations (this summer’s “Wisteria Walk” the latest to inspire visiting Instagrammers), the centre regularly conducts interactive workshops and events for the local community.

Of course, we love all our Pod Points, but these just gave us an excuse to head back to Bath and, in turn, the SouthGate centre.
