Overview

Land Rover's new variant of its classic Defender arrives in PHEV form. Changing the design for such an iconic car would always be controversial, but the new design is certainly easy on the eye, even in this long wheelbase form. The PHEV packs a fair chunk of battery and pretty sharp performance, including a full suite of off-roading features that benefit significantly from the immediate torque from its electric motor. With its modern Land Rover luxury interior, the Defender PHEV shows yet more promise for the electric future of JLR.  This guide is based on the P400e.
