Overview
Pretty much the industry standard full battery electric car since 2010. Nissan's latest revamp of the LEAF has more gadgets, is faster, sleeker and, most importantly, capable of longer distances between charges. Alongside "ProPILOT" (equivalent to Tesla's famous "Autopilot"), perhaps our favourite feature is the "e-pedal" which means the car can come to a gentle stop through regenerative braking, without needing to press the brake - genuine one pedal driving.
Charging Details
Charging time for a Nissan LEAF
The table below shows the estimated time to charge your Nissan LEAF from empty to full. For rapid charging, we show the time to charge from 20% - 80%, as charging tends to slow outside this range to protect the battery.
Charging method | Typically found at | Charging time* | Range/hour** |
---|---|---|---|
Empty to full | |||
3-pin plug | Home | 18 h | 9 m/h |
3.7kW | Home / Work | 11 h | 15 m/h |

150kW | Public Locations | 30 min | 99 m/30 min |
* Based on Pod Point estimates, charging rates can differ based on the ambient temperature, the state of the battery (e.g. empty or half full) and variation in charging rate.
** Range per hour is the number of miles you can expect to get from an hour of charging at the relevant rate.
*** If optional upgrade to 6.6kW on-board charger selected, otherwise same as 3.7kW.
Connector type and charging rates
