Overview

The Peugeot 408 plug-in hybrid (PHEV) is a refreshingly different entry into what has rapidly become a crowded and competitive market segment. It’s sort of an SUV, sort of a hatchback, and sort of a coupe. And it sort of works. It has a spacious interior, looks great inside and out (in our opinion, anyway), and has a respectable WLTP all-electric range of 40 miles which, importantly, puts it in the 8% Benefit-in-Kind tax band for company car users. And if that wasn’t enough, there’s a fully electric version coming out next year!

This guide is based on the entry-level Peugeot 408 Allure 180 model.

Charging time for a Peugeot 408

The table below shows the estimated time to charge your 408 from empty to full. For rapid charging, we show the time to charge from 20% - 80%, as charging tends to slow outside this range to protect the battery.
