Overview

Once upon a time, Toyota said the RAV4 only needed self-charging hybrid power; now, they offer a much-improved fifth generation of the SUV as a plug-in hybrid variant. The new RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid faces some stiff competition in a very busy family SUV PHEV market, but it manages to stand out with its striking angular design. It’s also surprisingly efficient considering its boxy design, with a fuel economy of 282.4 mpg (if charged regularly) and CO₂ emissions of just 22 gCO₂/km, which puts it in one of the lowest company car BiK rates.

The table below shows the estimated time to charge your RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid from empty to full. For rapid charging, we show the time to charge from 20% - 80%, as charging tends to slow outside this range to protect the battery.
