Overview

MG takes its first step into the world of PHEVs with a plug-in hybrid version of its flagship SUV and, at £30,000 for the base ‘Excite’ model, it’s a strong contender for the most affordable PHEV SUV on the market. But don’t worry - its interior retains the familiar comfort, quality, and silent running of MG’s HS series. It boasts a pure electric range of 32 miles, which can be refilled in as little as three hours on a 7kW charger, although the Chinese firm claims it can extend to 43 miles in urban conditions.

The table below shows the estimated time to charge your HS Plug-in Hybrid from empty to full. For rapid charging, we show the time to charge from 20% - 80%, as charging tends to slow outside this range to protect the battery.
