Overview

The second release using Volkswagen's pure electric "MEB" platform, the ID.4 is essentially an SUV version of the successful ID.3 model. The first ID.4 available comes with the top of the line battery pack - a smaller battery with 52kWh is to follow later in the year - ensuring excellent range figures and 125kW DC charging to make long trips a doddle. A similar techy interior to the ID.3 is a strong point and what you lose in performance from being that bit bigger, you gain in practical, family-friendly seating and luggage capacity.

This guide is based on the 1st edition, which has an optional on-board 11kW AC charger available. Other models may have different battery specifications.

Charging Details

Charging time for a Volkswagen ID.4
