POD Point MIS: Electricity Costs

Posted February 11, 2016 by Daniel

How to set your own electricity costs on the POD Point MIS.

The POD Point MIS is the industry's most advanced platform for managing and tracking your business' electric car charging infrastructure.

We've just introduced a new mini-feature on the MIS that let's you set your own electricity cost for individual business sites. By default, the MIS uses 10p/kWh when calculating the cost of electricity (energy spend) of your charge points. This is referred to as 'Energy Cost' in data tables on the MIS.

Now you can customise the price of kWh used for every site in your business so that you get a more accurate estimation of energy costs.

How to set your own electricity cost:

  • When logged in, click on the 'Sites' tab in the left-hand menu.
  • Select an individual site and click 'Edit this site' in the top right corner.
  • Scroll to the bottom of the page and input the site's electricity cost in pence/kWh.
  • Click 'Save' and repeat for all your sites.

Use it to calculate energy spend:

By inputting custom electricity costs you can get a more accurate picture of how much you spend on EV charging. The amount you spend on energy is essentially the 'fuel' you provide to your EV drivers in a given time period.
